As Michigan's Medical Marijuana Law Takes Full Effect Next Month, Sufferers of Chronic Pain and Other Ailments Cheer While Police Predict Problems

PAW PAW, Mich.--At first glance they look like old pals, maybe a bunch from the Rotary Club leisurely gabbing away over the hamburger special, making the waitress work overtime for her tip.

West Hollywood, California (Thursday, March 5, 2009) - West Hollywood’s medical marijuana dispensaries took a huge breath of relief away from Attorney General Eric Holder’s pronouncement that the US Justice Dept. would no longer raid them West Hollywood’s pot clubs were first raided in 2001 by the Bush Administration, with several raids taking place after WeHo became the Southern California Mecca of dispensaries in 2004.

Federal agents on Tuesday arrested the operator of a Corona medical marijuana dispensary and raided his shop as dozens of patients and employees protested outside the business.

The raid and arrest were part of a series that took place in Southern California on Tuesday. Operators of medical marijuana dispensaries in Hollywood, San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay also were arrested, according to Drug Enforcement Administration spokeswoman Sarah Pullen.
